The First Meeting
It was September 2011 when a casual night out turned into the first chapter of a lifetime. Gary and his Menards coworker, Josh, were planning a standard night of bar-hopping when Josh asked if his roommate could tag along.
Naturally, Gary had one pressing question: “Is she hot?” In a brilliant moment of tag-team banter, Josh and his roommate—Maegan—spun a wildly unglamorous tale, convincing Gary that she was a 40-year-old woman who currently had her hair locked up in rollers. Laughing it off, Gary told them to bring her anyway.
When Josh and Maegan pulled up 30 minutes later, there were no curlers in sight. Instead, Maegan caught her first glimpse of Gary outside, casually executing a flawless beer bong. While it might not be your traditional fairytale spark, to Maegan, it was an instant, undeniable attraction.
Our Story
From Bar Close to 4:00 AM
The rest of the night was a whirlwind of effortless conversation, dancing, and laughter. But when the bars closed and Gary was dropped off at a friend's house, neither of them was ready for the night to end.
The text messages flew back and forth into the early hours of the morning until Maegan finally extended an invitation: Come over, just to sleep. At 4:00 AM, Gary drove right back to her house, and they fell asleep together in Maegan’s basement bedroom.
From that morning on, they were inseparable. They fell fast, they fell hard, and they quickly built a life under one roof.
Building a Family, Hand in Hand
True love is proven in the quiet, everyday moments, and for Gary, the ultimate confirmation came when he saw how fiercely Maegan loved his son, Carson. She embraced him completely, weaving them all into a real family.
In February 2013, their world expanded beautifully with the arrival of their daughter, Annabelle. Together, they were raising a family built on a foundation of absolute devotion.
Worth the (Almost) 15-Year Wait
They say you can't rush perfection. After 13 years of shared dreams, laughter, and building a life together, Gary decided it was finally time to make it official. On April 20th, 2025, surrounded by the warmth of Maegan’s family, Gary got down on one knee and asked his best friend to be his wife. And she said yes!
For anyone who knows Gary and Maegan, their bond is unbreakable. They have weathered life’s highest peaks and its toughest storms, coming out the other side stronger, closer, and more unified than ever.
